High-school basketball players may now exercise their right to wear ‘I Can’t Breathe’ t-shirts during warm ups before a Mendocino basketball tournament. They never should have been prohibited from doing so, never should have been asked not to wear the shirts, and the claim go ‘security concerns’ against doing so were so insubstantial as to be unreasonable.
Actions are neither wrong nor impermissible simply because government says they are.
