The Libertarian Party has its most credible presidential candidate ever in former New Mexico governor Gary Johnson. So, after nominating Gov. Johnson and Judge Jim Gray, the did what any confident party would do: they talked about a father-son Republican duo.
Republican Ron Paul did poorly as a GOP presidential candidate this spring, and his senator-son isn’t about to sacrifice GOP ambitions for LP approval. For that matter, I’d be surprised if Ron did anything to harm Rand’s ambitions.
The sooner the LP stops whining, and commits itself to boosting its own candidate, the sooner it will be taken seriously.
