Predictably, National Review pushes an anti-immigration line emphasizing ‘national security’ and ‘border control.’  Throw in ‘rule of law’ – as though any law no matter how restrictive or economically inefficient is deserving of a full-throated defense, lest the Republic collapse – and you have the worst of the contemporary GOP.

NR doesn’t just misunderstand the moral and practical benefits of free markets in capital, goods, and labor, the editors often fight against those very freedoms.

Perhaps they’ll rehire John Derbyshire to help them make their case.  Better still, a quick merger with VDare, and they’re all back together again.
