I’m on just about every political email list imaginable, including one for GOP US Senate candidate Mark Neumann of Wisconsin.
Neumann’s emails often have the same, odd subject line:
Can we talk tonight?
Although his campaign means to draw one’s notice to an upcoming conference call, I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks that message title’s just strange. (If I’m not mistaken, although I’d rather be, I think the Neumann campaign even sent a message like that under his wife’s name.)
It’s meant to be clever, but it’s really overly familiar and off-putting. There’s nothing appealing about an evening talk with Mark Neumann, or any other candidate. The come-hither question from a candidate only increases one’s unease.
A better choice: Conference Call Tonight at 7.
