America spends vast sums, and confers extraordinary authority, on police officers. Among the many sworn officers across the country, most strive to protect their communities while respecting their neighbors.
This dedication is not, and a few being what they are could not, be true for every sworn officer. A few – yet of course still too many – slip away into misconduct, criminality, and unjustified violence.
