But the government says the detention is the judiciary‘s fault:
Journalist Zied el-Heni was released on bail today after a three-day detention for accusing prosecutors of falsifying evidence in the case of a cameraman Mourad Mehrezi. Mehrezi had been arrested for filming the egging of a government minister.
Hundreds of people protested el-Heni’s arrest on Monday in front of a courthouse in Tunis.
El-Heni, a former member of the executive bureau of the National Union of Tunisian Journalists, was arrested on Friday after saying the prosecutor in cameraman Mourad Mehrezi’s case had fabricated a confession stating that Mehrezi had conspired with the assailant.
